Posted about this in the other thread but under the wrong title of modern combat 2. Yeah game looks awesome, reminiscent of good old days playing strike on karkland and warlord.

Got BF2 installed last night and fully patched, managed about 10 minutes before bed and managed to die about 15 times and not come close to hitting anything. It was shameful.

I am going to blame it on the new hit boxes from patch 1.5 plus my stupidly high ping.

Yeah I was on my clan server, but even there there was no one I knew. Two new clan members who joined around the time I was getting bored so only ever played a few rounds with and that was it.

I played it on the pc at my friends over the weekend and once we got in a server it was really good. However, doing so took over 20 minutes. The server browser is very slow and clicking join doesnt do anything half the time. And then of course punkbuster throws you out of games for no reason. The game feels crippled and Im really not sure if I'll be bothered with the hassle if I do go and buy it. Bit of a shame.

My son bought it but can't play it due to constantly being kicked by punkbuster. workarounds are available both on steam and punkbuster forums, both different of course but similar in that they do not work.
I thought the mmo world was bad enough releasing games which are unfinished, but this goes one further and sells you a game which can't be played.

PB kicks seemed to be fixed last night, still getting disconnections due to crappy EA account servers. Although considering the current load on the servers is 400% greater than anything they had for BF2 its to be expected.

Managed a few rounds last night, really enjoying it, so much so my xbox hasn't been on since Friday. Just hope for a fix to the disconnects so I can get more play time, at the minute 2 hours in game results in about 1 hour of actual play.

Just seen a tweet that the back end maintenance has been completed to the main account server, disconnects should now be fixed!
